A mandate for support
UNSOH provides the logistical and operational backbone that enables the Gang Suppression Force (GSF) to carry out its mandate in Haiti. In accordance with Security Council resolution 2793 (2025), adopted on 30 September 2025, UNSOH delivers comprehensive logistical and operational support primarily to the GSF, as well as to BINUH, the Haitian National Police, and the Haitian armed forces on joint operations with the GSF, and technical support to the OAS.
This support covers the day-to-day requirements of the Force, whose contingents are contributed by participating Member States, from the movement of personnel and equipment to accommodation, medical support, communications, and the infrastructure required for deployments.
Operational and logistical support
UNSOH supports the GSF across key areas, including:
- Infrastructure and accommodation: preparing and maintaining facilities for GSF personnel on existing sites, including accommodation, offices, training areas, sanitation, and other essential services.
- Aviation and movement: transporting personnel, equipment, and supplies between locations and facilitating the deployment of contingents.
- Supply and logistics: providing essential supplies, equipment, fuel, water, and other services required to sustain the Force.
- Medical support: putting in place medical arrangements and evacuation capabilities for GSF personnel.
- Communications and information technology: providing systems and technical support needed for the Force to communicate and operate effectively.
- Engineering and camp support: developing new facilities and expanding existing ones as the GSF deploys additional contingents and extends its geographic presence.
