Kinshasa, April 30, 2025 – The United Nations Organization Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (MONUSCO) welcomes the start of an operation transporting several hundred unarmed members of the Armed Forces of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (FARDC), the Congolese National Police (PNC), and some dependents from its facilities in Goma to Kinshasa. This operation is being carried out with MONUSCO’s logistical support and is facilitated by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in its key role as a neutral intermediary. The operation will take place over several days and will consist of multiple convoys.
