Kinshasa, May 03, 2024 -- The Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Head of the United Nations Organization Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (MONUSCO), Ms Bintou Keita, condemns in the strongest possible terms the bombing of displaced persons' sites in Lac-Vert and Mugunga (13-15 km from Goma/North Kivu) on Friday. The attacks cost the lives of several civilians, including at least six children, and injured many others.
