World leaders express support for UN Peacekeeping

During the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly, the last of Secretary-General António Guterres’s tenure, world leaders expressed support for the vital work of UN peacekeepers in protecting civilians, supporting political processes and helping create conditions for lasting peace.

They also underscored the importance of sustained funding and strong Member State support to ensure peace operations have the resources they need to fulfil their mandates amid growing challenges and evolving security needs.
