CRANS-MONTANA, 6 July 2017 - The Conference on Cyprus continues today in the Swiss town of Crans-Montana under the auspices of Secretary-General António Guterres, who arrived in Switzerland early this morning.
The Conference began this morning with a plenary session, followed by bilateral meetings between the Secretary-General and the heads of delegation, and thereafter a working lunch. Proceedings continue this afternoon.
Participating in the Conference, which reconvened on 28 June 2017, are H.E. Mr. Mustafa Akıncı, H.E. Mr. Nicos Anastasiades, and the guarantor powers, with Greece represented by Foreign Minister Mr. Nikos Kotzias, Turkey by Foreign Minister Mr. Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu and the UK by the Minister of State for Europe and the Americas, Sir Alan Duncan. The European Union, in attendance as an observer, is represented by the High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Ms. Federica Mogherini.
This is the Secretary-General's second visit to Crans-Montana since the Conference reconvened; he also chaired the meeting on 30 June 2017.
